Summer Concerts Not So Hot

The live music business has taken a huge hit this summer, with one high profile concert after another being cancelled or postponed. Industry experts blame the poor economy, rising ticket prices, and worsening traffic in urban areas. Live Nation, which controls and promotes the majority of summer touring for top artists, reportedly has had to cancel over 200 concerts already, and the peak of summer hasn’t even arrived yet. Being huge live music fans ourselves, we sincerely hope this is just part of the cyclical nature of the industry and that things turn around very soon.
